As Executive Chairman of DMCC – the world’s leading free zone – Ahmed has helped shape Dubai’s status as a global trade and enterprise hub for commodities.
Under his leadership, DMCC is recognised the world over, and has been on a remarkable growth journey starting with 28 member companies in 2003, to well over 15,000 today.
Joining in 2001 – a year prior to its official opening – Ahmed has launched a range of industry initiatives at DMCC, including the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), DMCC Coffee Centre and DMCC Tea Centre.
It is no coincidence that under Ahmed’s stewardship of DMCC, Dubai is now one of the world’s top three physical gold markets and diamond trading hubs.
A passionate and driven individual, he has always been one-step ahead, brave in the face of uncertainty and worked diligently to transform DMCC into the award-winning free zone it is today.
A respected voice on international business, Ahmed – who himself drove the Lincoln Navigator during his university years in the United States – tells us what it is like to see results after years of hard work, dedication and focus.
